BIOGRAPHY

Ms. Carol J. Tirado López is an associate at Vilariño & Associates, LLC since 2019. Ms. Tirado has a B.A. in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico, (Magna Cum Laude) and she obtained a Juris Doctor from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law (Cum Laude). Ms. Tirado is a licensed attorney admitted to the legal practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.

 

Prior to becoming an associate, she acted as counsel in the Legal Aid Clinic of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law conducting investigations regarding civil cases with the purpose of identifying the best course of action for the clients, she also assisted an attorney in the Society for Legal Assistance at the Superior Court of Puerto Rico, Ponce Court of First Instance, in the preparation of criminal cases, and was an intern for Hon. Brenda Vera Miró, at the Superior Court of Puerto Rico, Ponce Court of First Instance.

 

Ms. Tirado has been involved in all phases of bankruptcy proceedings, including but not limited to, providing advice to debtors, creditors and trustees, and representing Chapter 7 trustees in liquidation proceedings and in several contested adversary proceedings. Ms. Tirado has also assisted in representing debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13, participating in litigation pertaining to adversary proceedings, and assisting in mediation and transactional processes.

 

Ms. Tirado is an admitted Notary Public for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and is also an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Puerto Rico Bar Association.
